At the heart of Southside Powder Coaters is powder coating. We use quality products and processing systems and are fully supported by market leaders and experts in the surface finishing field.
Along with Interpon we recognise the need for more sustainable industrial solutions. So as well as utilising their eco-friendly powders Southside Powder Coaters is proud to have made the switch to solar power in 2017. Solar power will insure our large ovens run in a more environmentally friendly manner.
Our 2 large ovens measure 6.5m long x 2.5m wide x 2m high allowing us to complete a range of items, varying from small bike frames to 6.5m sliding gates.
Powder coating is a process by which free-flowing, dry powder is electrostatically applied to a pre-treated metal surface and then cured by heating in a large enclosed oven. The powder then fuses to the metal and creates an exceptionally durable coating. The coating has been manufactured to not fade, scratch or chip and is recognised as a more hard-wearing alternative to traditional wet paint.
Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE) is an epoxy-based powder coating that is used to protect steel connections, water valves and other parts exposed to corrosive substances.
